Day 136 – bun’s first chinese new year

Bun’s first cny.
He slept through e eve till morning 8+, smiled sooooo nicely at us but burst out crying cuz we didn’t prepare his milk in time! :p
when we reached Doink’s grandma’s place, bun fell asleep only after letting e entire family noe his voice prowess. :p
I’m so proud of him. :p at least now they’ll noe it’s not easy taking care of him.
Now we’re at our own house after his gd nap of 2 hours at grandma place, while I complete my pumping.

Day 134 – sat

Today is e 1^st day I saw bun’s 1^st tooth!! So exciting!!

Day 125

Today marks the 126^th day of life of Bun.
Yesterday evening, while on the ground, Bun was suddenly able to flip from tummy to back! Well, bout 2 weeks before, he was already able to flip from back to tummy, which he’s so proud of it, he kept doing it all the time! & he also drools practically the entire day :p
When we brought him out last week on his day 116 (we were on leave to settle banking matters), he has finally learned to like going out, and is happy. But when we reached home and after a nap, he got pissed with Boink n Doink! ><
He refused to look at Boink, refused to smile/laugh when Boink tried to get his attention.. Naughty bun.
Now the forum mummies explained that Bun was upset that we disappeared aka go to work etc without letting him know, so he’s letting us noe his displeasure. :p

Missing Bun here at work, and lucky boss on leave today.
Planning to finish my stuffs early to pump, and to go home earlier! :p

Day 120 – house visiting rabbie

on bun’s 120^th day (07/01/2012), we visited rabbie at her home for potluck. Rabbie cooked chicken n prepared bai guo yi mi dessert, sh n reg prepared banana cake n hashbrown, cy provided roasted duck n pork knuckles! Pgy’s dad offered fried glutinous rice, tom his europe chocolate souvenirs while Doink n I gave e tofu wrap chicken. It was an enjoyable lunch but we had to rush back early cuz bun was a bit cranky n he was carried e entire time.

while carrying bun, he shitted n dropped out with none of us realizing. Only when we wanna change his diaper then realize.
chinese has a saying tt bb shit is gold, so should buy my number. We bought n we strike 1^st price. E unfortunate thing was tt it took us 3 days to realise we din buy in cuz sold out!! Lol but bun has a gold butt

Day 76

Boink’s dad fell sick bout 1-2 weeks ago. Boink’s bro came back from Tekong last Fri sick as well. Boink’s mum fell sick on Monday (Day 74) while Boink became feverish on Day 73, but recovered slightly on Day 74… Doink is starting to fall sick, and that must be prevented, else everyone’s sick, and Bun can’t/shouldn’t get sick.

Very tired now looking after Bun, today at 4am, fed him a bit of milk, and he shitted twice after I just changed him, and the moment I removed the diapers, even after I waited quite a while, he peed only after diaper removed. Shirt got wet, pants got poop.
This is life as it is.
Tiring, but yet, it all just feels worth it when he smiles.

Is amazing tt he came out of me n it’s so weird especially when doink n i go out together. Somehow it feels so surreal.
His smile makes all trouble worthwhile.

Getting cuter, and more actions and more sounds while sleeping, eating. Definitely will miss this period even though I’ve to wake up every night for his night feeds.

Birth of Ah Bun

Finally Bun came out 1 week ago!
There we were, so worried that he’d not come out, and would need to be induced, and Doink was there looking at the calendar looking for a good date, and he kept talking to Bun, telling him to choose a good date and time. & there poop!
Last week, 10 Sep 2011, woke up in the morning bout 6+ am on Saturday. Felt a little wet wet over there, and went toilet.
Saw red with some transparent fluids there, and went to wake Doink up. Didn’t noe if we should wait or not. I started procrastinating, cuz was unwilling to go in… Goin in would mean all the pain and sufferings would follow :s
Doink told my mum, and I had to go take a good bath to clean up first. Decided to settle my Cityville before going in. Asked my mum to heat up her dumplings which I wouldn’t be able to eat for at least the next month. Ate her char bee hoon too and had the yucky chicken essence, which I dun hate now, cuz have to drink it every morning… :s

Finally after the long procrastination, Doink finally had me convinced to leave at about 10+am, via cab. We didn’t bring our hospital bag down in case it was a false alarm. We had called the clinic earlier and was asked to call Dr Adrian direct, and he told us to go check in for observation to confirm if I’m in labour.
I was feeling menses cramp ever since I saw red. Boarding the cab was also painful, and had to hide the pain from Doink.

We reached Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) via PIE, and checked ourselves in to the labour ward for observation first at about 11am.

Nurses were quite nice, and laid there for monitoring of Bun’s heartbeat and any signs of contractions. Nurses also checked if I was dilated. In half an hour’s time, it was found that cervix was dilated at 2 – 3cm, and contraction was at 1 every 6-7 minutes.
The nurses asked for us to wait for Dr Adrian to review us, and I was given fleet enema to clear bowels, and woah… that I did, and twice!! Bad experience, I had thought that the pain from needing to lao sai was the worst. I guess I hadn’t felt what contractions were really like…

Adrian came at about 1pm to review me, and said cervix still 2-3cm dilated. Asked if we had anything urgent to do. Since we didn’t, Adrian just hooked me up on drip to induce and broke the waterbag. OMG… the pain after that when contractions hit was super pain! ><
Was still thinking to tong and not request for epidural, but initially when I first arrived, I only felt contraction was bad when the figure was 70++ but subsequently, even when the numbers were like 20++ I couldn’t take it, so had to request for epi. A very senior doctor, Dr Chong Jin Long gave me my epidural. Felt a sting of pain during insertion, but after that so quickly, everything below was numbed.
Side effect wasn’t too bad, and I was only very drowsy. I guess it was good that it helped me to sleep, and then cervix could open faster. Epidural was given at 4pm, but no one checked my cervix dilation. Doink and I were worried that we’ll end up requiring caesarean, and I was quite upset too, but too drowsy to bother…

Luckily by 7pm, when cervix was checked again by the midwife, it was found that it was fully dilated!
Btw, didn’t even feel a thing when nurse did the check. Fully numbed.
Anyway, as Bun was still high, I wasn’t asked to push, but to wait for Adrian to come.
Adrian came after that in t-shirt, shorts, and fishmonger boots! The apron he put on was those plastic bag type, and was really just like a fishmonger! :p
He and the midwife helped me to time my pushes together with the contraction, cuz I didn’t feel any pain. I guess I should thank them currently for not turning off the epidural. If they did, I think I might pass out from the pain. :s
I guess as I push, there was some distress from Bun and thus, Adrian used the forceps to get Bun out. I was pushing hard with eyes closed and didn’t see. Doink saw though and said the forceps were so scary. Turned out the cord was wound around Bun’s neck, and the further he came out, he was getting strangled ><
Quickly without giving Doink a chance, Adrian cut the umbilical cord and Bun was brought away to suck out all the phelgm etc from Bun. Bun took a while to cry but he’s all right.
Adrian then went on to sew my wound up. With epi, I felt nothing, and had no screaming… But by 4am, when epi wore off, OMG… painful!! Really had to request for painkillers to help a bit.
Even now, it’s still hurting man.
When I went toilet for the first time after they took out the urine catheter, I felt my pile for the 1st time. It was huge… HUGE!!! >< Now it's reduced on the left side, but still swollen on the right now, even after 1 week. It also hurts still when I'm sitting down.

Bun is now 1 week old, getting cuter by the day even though he’s crying almost every 2 hours, and I’ve to pump every few hours to sustain his feed.
Sometimes still feel it’s miraculous he came out from me.
